What is SMS Text-To-Speech?  In certain situations businesses need to send messages that are received as voice calls. Instead of the recipient receiving an SMS, the text is converted to speech. The recipient’s phone is called, and when answered, the text is is spoken out.  Also known as Text to Speech.

How many characters can I send in a voice call?
For voice calls (Text to speech), we charge depending on the number of characters you send. For example, if you send up to 300 characters, we'll only charge you for 1 message. If you send 301 characters, we'll charge you for 2 messages, but will send it as a single voice call.  If a message is longer than 4 message parts, it will be truncated.

Standard English Characters - Text to Speech
1 – 300 characters = 1 Message
301 – 600 characters = 2 Messages
601 – 900 characters = 3 Messages
901 – 1200 characters = 4 Messages

How to adjust Text to Speech Voice calls
You can add pauses, breaks or even change the read out speed of Text to Speech voice calls.  Add a pause/break:  Basic: Use a comma or full stop as a small pause e.g. "Please enter your activation code 9, 0, 9, 0, in the next 20 minutes."  Advanced: Use the 'break' tag wrapped in 'speak' e.g. "<speak>This is an example <break time='2s' />test message.</speak>" where 'time' is in seconds followed by 's' wrapped in ' '.

How does answering machine detection work?
We are using a Call Progress Analyzer (CPA) when doing answering machine (voicemail) detection.  While there is no consistent signaling difference between a call picked up by a human or a machine, we detect voicemail using heuristic algorithms which are based on tone of voice, speed of the spoken word, etc. This detection usually takes 3 to 5 seconds and Follow Up is King's machine detection typically has an accuracy which is above or on par with the industry standards.

What is a Bounce?
A bounce is basically a rejected email. When you send your campaign, Follow Up is king attempts to send it to the recipient. When the email gets to the receiving server (where your subscriber’s email is located), the receiving mail server either accepts the email or rejects it. The rejection is called a Bounce. There are 2 types of bounces: Soft and Hard.

A soft bounce normally happens when the receiving Mail Server is temporarily unable to receive the email. There are several reasons why this would happen. The following are reasons for soft bounces: A server is unavailable or it’s down. The server is overloaded. The recipient’s mailbox is full. Your message size is too big. Soft bounces would normally resolve itself. Follow Up is King will try 3 times to send your message. If the email address soft bounces 3 times, it will be considered as a hard bounce.

A hard bounce is more permanent. In terms of Follow Up is King, 1 hard bounce removes the subscriber from the list. There are several reasons why an email would hard bounce. The main characteristic though, is that it is a permanent rejection.

What time zone are messages scheduled in?
When scheduling messages on the dashboard, we use your computers local time zone.

What Payment Methods Do We Accept?

How Do I Change My Password?
Update Password by clicking on your username in the top right hand corner.   Select 'My Profile' and hen choose 'Change Password". 

How to I Reset My Password?
You can reset your password on the login page and we will send you a password reset link.

Why is my credit card payment showing as "Pending"?
Credit card payments will show as Pending on the transactions page for up to 7 days until they're cleared.  You can ignore this, your payment will be added to your account instantly.

How are dedicated numbers charged if I buy one half way through a month?
Dedicated numbers are charged at the start of each month on a prepaid basis. When you first purchase a number, we'll charge you a pro-rated amount for the remainder of the month.  For example, if you buy a number half way though the month, we'll charge you half the price to cover the rest of the month, then on the 1st of the next month, we'll charge you for the whole month.
